The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), a major trade group, has filed a suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against the government over a new federal lobbying and ethics law. As reported on Law.com, NAM contends that the law, which requires trade associations to release the names of members who donate more than $5,000 for lobbying activities, violates the members' First Amendment rights to freedom of association.
